AN INSIDE LOOK AT HOW BOOKS GET PUBLISHED: Top Professionals Take You Step-by-Step Through the Process will be offered this summer at University of Denver.

This program is designed to provide aspiring writers with practical insight into the functions of the book publishing process: the bottom-line considerations that guide publishers in their decision-making, what agents, editors, and sales people do within the process, and what they look for in submitted manuscripts. “Hands-on” workshop sessions provide opportunities to learn how to write a query letter and how to create a marketing plan. Featured are “real world” reports from seasoned published authors on how they have experienced the whole process with special insight into the role of the author as salesman for the book. Throughout the course the emphasis is on publishing as a business.

For complete information about the class, contact Elizabeth Geiser at egeiser[at]att.net. Cost of the class is $1676.
