ASPEN SIDEWALK POETRY COMPETITION

in Aspen

All are welcome to this family friendly poetry competition encouraging original thought and design. Join us for an afternoon of poetry in real time with sidewalk chalk. Bring a poem or create one on the spot – chalk and sidewalk provided!

Enjoy an intimate evening of poetry with two Colorado poets!

Sandra Dorr
has published poems, stories, and essays in Rosebud, The Writer, and The Denver Post just to name a few. Poems from her collection, Desert Water, won the New Discovery prize, a national Salt Hill poetry prize, and first prize in the Colorado Poetry Society’s open contest. She is also the author of two books on women’s health and travel
and currently lives in Grand Junction where she teaches an ongoing workshop and works as a writing coach.

When Danny Rosen
is not teaching astronomy on safari guides in southern Africa, he is a frequent reader at the Sparrows Poetry Festival in Salida and the Poetry at the Lenado series in Aspen. That Curve, his first collection of poems, was reviewed in the Mountain Gazette by James Tipton. He is the founder of the Lithic Press and resides in Fuita, Colorado.
