Denver Woman’s Press Club Invites Unpublished Writers to Submit Works

This spring, the Denver Woman’s Press Club will recognize talented writers with the club’s annual Unknown Writers’ Contest, a writing competition that sheds light on unpublished writers in the categories of nonfiction, fiction, and poetry.

The contest is open to men and women who are Colorado residents, age 18 and over, whose writing has never appeared with a paid byline. The deadline for submissions is February 20, 2016, and all entrants will be invited to a reception at the historic clubhouse in Denver on April 10, 2016.

Cash prizes will be awarded in each category: 1st place $125, 2nd place $75, and 3rd place $50. In addition, all entrants will receive detailed, written comments from professional writers who are members of the club. Entrants may submit one entry in each category with a 2,000-word limit for fiction and nonfiction and a 40-line limit for poetry.
