Everything You’ve Always Wanted to Know about Law Enforcement

Where: Denver Press Club, 1330 Glenarm Pl., Denver
Thursday Night, April 10.
Time: 6:30 p.m. conversation and cash bar; 7:00 p.m. dinner; and 8:00 p.m. program
$20 for members; $25 for non-members. RSVPs are necessary. Please email our Caterer Director, Donnell Bell or call 719 540 8632 to make your reservation! The reservation deadline is Monday, April 7, 2014.
(NOTE: No shows and anyone not cancelling their reservation 72 hours in advance will be expected to pay since RMMWA will be billed for their reservation.)

After a 21 year career in law enforcement Laura now teaches Criminal Justic e She will share her experience on some of the following subjects: .
1. Legal issues that are pertinent to mystery fiction: Miranda warnings, legally allowed searches of people or places and when you need warrants.
2. Time of death determinations .
3. The Seven Deadly sins of writers. This one goes into the most commonly made errors in mystery fiction
4. Hands on with handcuffs

(The directions to the Denver Press Club, located at 1330 Glenarm Place in Denver, are as follows: Take 1-25 to 6th Ave. east. Turn north onto Santa Fe to Colfax Ave (15th) and turn right (east). Go about 4 blocks to Glenarm, turn left (north). The Den ver Press Club will be about a block and half down on the right hand side, across from the Denver Athletic Club. It’s a small stone building with an awning. Parking is available to the south, in the lot next to the Press Club, for $5. Bring singles or a credit card. You must pay the machine and then leave the ticket on your dashboard. Otherwise, there is meter parking on the street, for which you will need quarters.
