Have you got a story inside that others might like to read? Join us for a Colorado Authors’ League Luncheon with guests Lisa Jones, author of Broken: A Love Story, and Cara Lopez Lee, author of They Only Eat Their Husbands, and learn how these local authors penned their first memoirs.

A contributor to High Country News, NPR and other outlets, Lisa Jones’ autobiographical tale of her friendship with Native American healer and horse whisperer, won the Gold Nautilus Award for telling a story that impacts people’s lives.

Cara Lopez Lee worked as a reporter for the PBS newsmagazine North Carolina Now and writer/field producer for HGTV, Discovery Health and Food Network. Her stories have appeared in publications such as The Los Angeles Times, The Denver Post and Wazee Journal. In addition to her memoir, she is the co-author of the novel Back in the Real World.

When: Wednesday, Sept. 12 @ 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Brooklyn’s, 901 Auraria Parkway, Denver (50 yards from the Pepsi Center)
