Denver Press Club Gridiron Club

This note is from Bruce Goldberg of the DPC.

Friends of the Denver Press Club,

We’ve had a flurry of Gridiron Show ticket sales this week — in keeping with both the Denver and Denver Press Club traditions of signing up REEEEL close to the event.

So I wanted to let you know that you still can purchase tickets at _www.blacktie-colorado.com_ ( , up until 9 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 20. If you miss that deadline, then you still can buy tickets at the door on show night.

The enthusiastic cast has completed four rehearsals, and our Tuesday night one was particularly sharp. We’re really looking forward to Friday night.

Come enjoy Denver’s funniest political satire show — and for a mere $20.00 per ticket. And you can help the club with its No. 2 fundraiser of the year by signing up others, notifying friends and colleagues, and bringing a crowd with you.

One more time: The details —

Friday, Oct. 21, 7 p.m., Gov. John Hickenlooper (singing one song) and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock will be part of the Denver Press Club Gridiron Show at the L2 Art and Culture Center, 1477 Columbine Street (Colfax and Columbine, opposite East High School).

Come to Denver’s funniest political satire event. Featuring a veteran cast plus some big names from politics and media, the Gridiron Show promises a hilarious evening of political and social satire — and all for only $20.00. Yes, we have changed to a show-only model, which enables us to greatly lower the cost from previous years.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show will begin at 7 p.m. Please sign up at, under Oct. 21

Our satirical targets this year include Gov. Hickenlooper, the Wisconsin governor vs. the unions, Michelle Bachman, former Congressman Anthony Wiener, President Obama, out-of-control spending, bad home loans, the weakened state of the media, debt limit fights, anti-science idiocy, Tom Martino and medical marijuana.

You can park in the East High School parking lot and in the Maaco lot near L2, among other places. The club will operate a bar in the L2 lobby this evening, and L2 will sell soft drinks, tea, hot chocolate, candy, cookies and other snacks.

We hope you’ll join us for a “No Sacred Cows” show of fun and entertainment.
Bruce Goldberg
