Rocky Mountain Mystery Writers of America Invites To Dinner: Scott Renter, Denver Fire Department – Arson Investigation

Program: Get the details on the fine art of arson investigation. Scott Renter is a seventeen year veteran of the Denver Fire Department, with the last five years spent as an Arson Investigator. As a commissioned Special Police Officer, Scott has been involved in more than 50 fire and explosion scenes and has completed over 500 hours of
arson-specific training.

He has presented numerous introductory fire investigation classes to the Denver Fire and Denver Police Department Academies, the Colorado State Patrol Academy, as well as special overviews to the Denver District Attorney’s office and the FBI’s Denver Evidence Response Team.

(The directions to the Denver Press Club, located at 1330 Glenarm Place in Denver, are as follows: Take 1-25 to 6th Ave. east. Turn north onto Santa Fe to Colfax Ave (15th) and turn right (east). Go about 4 blocks to Glenarm, turn left (north). The Denver Press Club will be about a block and half down on the right hand side, across from the Denver Athletic Club. It’s a small stone building with an awning. Parking is available to the south, in the lot next to the Press Club, for $3. Bring singles or a credit card. You must pay the machine and then leave the ticket on your dashboard. Otherwise, there is meter parking on the street, for which you will need quarters.
