CIPA Meeting Sept 18 – Successful Bookstore Events

by

Do you picture yourself at a signing table with a line of fans out the door and around the block waiting to buy your book?
Then the first step is to attend CIPA’s September 18 meeting where representatives from four of the most “local-author friendly” bookstores in the region will discuss the “please do” and the “please don’t” of signings, readings, and holding bookstore events. Learn what they expect of you, and what you can expect from them.

Presenters include:
Mandy King, Marketing & Promotions Manager, Boulder Bookstore Kari Tonn, Book Seller & Event Coordinator, Borders, Flatirons Crossing Katie Schmidt, Local Author Coordinator, Tattered Cover
Sue Wilmer, Owner, Old Firehouse Books, Ft Collins (and board member of Mountains and Plains Booksellers Association)
PLUS our special guest, Lisa Knudsen, Executive Director of Mountains and Plains Booksellers Association (the trade association for hundreds of independent book stores in our ten state region) will give a brief introduction to their organization, their upcoming conference, and some new opportunities for small publishers and bookstores to interact with and learn from each other.
The meeting is from 8 a.m. to Noon Saturday, September 18 at the Red Lion Hotel. ANYONE CAN ATTEND. Non- members $30. For more information and to register please go to http://www.cipabooks.com/
