The Art of Place: Where Interior and Exterior Landscapes Merge with Laura Pritchett

Colorado Authors’ League Luncheon
Wednesday, March 24th, 11:30 to 1:30 p.m.
The Boulder Cork, 3295 30th Street, Boulder, CO 80301

The exterior landscape can influence and illuminate the internal landscape of characters. The play between the internal and external can be a powerful tool in creating characters and rendering their experience, as well as incorporating the natural world into our writing work.

Join Laura Pritchett for this discussion that will explore the relationship between the two. She will be addressing the questions: How can the natural world illustrate our characters? How can our characters help us experience nature in new ways? Ideal for all creative non-fiction and fiction writers.

Laura Pritchett is the author and editor of five books. Her fiction includes the novel Sky Bridge, which won the WILLA Fiction Award; and the short story collection Hell’s Bottom, Colorado, which won the Milkweed National Fiction Prize and the PEN USA Award. She is also the editor/co-editor of three anthologies: The Pulse of the River, Home Land: Ranching and a West that Works, and Going Green: True Tales from Gleaners, Scavengers and Dumpster Divers.

Come join your fellow writers for a delicious lunch and networking. Guests are welcome and luncheons are open to the public. Cost for members is $20, non-members $25. Price includes dessert.
