Colorado Press Women Seminars at DPC

Thursday, Feb. 18, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Colorado Press Women will present two writing seminars at the Denver Press Club: “Writing for the Web” and “Blogging Tips and Tricks.”

Kate Johnson, senior new media strategist at the University of Denver, will present “Writing for the Web,” demonstrating how people read differently online and how you should write to reach them.

A panel of three successful bloggers will present tips for launching and running a blog, and talk about how blogging can boost your career. Panelists include Christian Toto, a journalist and film critic with more than a decade of experience in newspapers, magazines and the Web (check out http://www.whatwouldtotowatch.com ) and Gary Landeck, library director for the Alpine Club and a professional blogger at
http://culturalheritagematters.com .

Tom Sherlock, owner of Allied Internet Productions, has worked with businesses since early 2006 in starting and managing corporate blogs, and will bring the corporate blogging perspective to the panel.

The event is open to the public. Cost is $5 for CPW members and students; $10 for nonmembers.
