Rocky Mountain Mystery Writers of America Invites To Dinner:
LAURA MANUEL, FORMER POLICE OFFICER AND CURRENT CRIMINAL PSYCH PROFESSOR –
“MURDER, SUICIDE OR ACCIDENT: WHAT COPS KNOW”

WHEN: Thursday, FEBRUARY 12, 2009
WHERE: The Denver Press Club, 1330 Glenarm, Denver
TIME: 7:00 p.m. dinner, 8:00 p.m. program
COST: $18 for dinner (price includes: meal, dessert, taxes, gratuities AND
program!). Cash, checks only please.

MENU: Homemade Bolognese Style Meatballs Served In Arribiatta Sauce with
Wilted Greens and Roasted Wild Muschrooms; Tri-Colored Three Cheese Tortellini;
Classic Caesar Salad with Grilled Garlic Chicken and Herb Croutons; Fresh
Steamed Broccoli; Homemade Garlic and Paresan Bread; Teiramisu and beverages. Cash
bar available.

PROGRAM: Laura Manuel was born and raised in Detroit druing the years it was
titled “Murder City”. As soon as she realized she was free to leave, she moved
to Virginia to be in the National Park Service. When the bicentennial ended,
her car wasn’t running well enough for her to head west. She took a temporary
job with the Williamsburg Police Department that lasted 2 1/2 years. She left
WPD to join the Greeley Police where she stayed almost 19 years working in
patrol, administration, and investigations in person’s crimes. Laura has a B.A.
from the University of Michigan and an M.A. in psychology from the University
of Northern Colorado. She finished the coursework for her Ph.D. while working
on the swing shift. She is now employed by Front Range Community College in
Ft.Collins in the Criminal Justice and Psychology departments

No shows and anyone not cancelling their reservation 72 hours in advance will
be expected to pay since RMMWA will be billed for their reservation.

The directions to the Denver Press Club: 1-25 to 6th Ave. east. Turn north
from 6th Avenue onto Santa Fe Drive, then turn right from Santa Fe onto
Colfax Ave (15th). You will be heading east. Go about 4 blocks to Glenarm
and turn left (north). The Denver Press Club will be about a block and one-half
on the right side, across from the Denver Athletic Club. It’s a small stone
building with an awning.

Parking is available to the south, in the lot next to the Press Club, for $4
(usually). Bring singles or a credit card, as the machine won’t make change.
You must pay the machine and then leave the ticket on your dashboard or be
ticketed. In addition, there is some meter parking on the street, for which you
will need quarters. The
